Numerous novels from previous generations were created as serials and published in newspapers or literary magazines. For better or worse, such is a thing of the past. However, a great way to get started today is to create your own blog serial novel, which is a form that not only grants you the far more manageable option of writing in increments, but also guarantees that you get published! In a day and age when we want to use our time wisely and efficiently for the sake of overall increased well-being, we can begin to see each blog serial as its own mini story including character, setting, action, tone and dialogue, among other techniques. In this workshop, you'll learn a set of essential rules for an incremental approach to novel writing, including scratch planning, plot & character development, and adjusting attitude toward consistent blog publishing. Facilitated by professional Writing Instructor, Troy Hess, On the Yahara Writing Center. Open to adults and teens.
Space is limited. Registration required. Email sunref@sunlib.org, 825-0702, or stop by the Adult Information Desk.
