Cover of Brains by Eric PiotrowskiIn this entertaining presentation, veteran Sun Prairie West HS educator and author Eric S. Piotrowski will discuss the genesis and journey of his latest novel Brains: How to Survive Apocalyptic Bibliophilia. The book follows Nasha Alexander as she tries to create a library in the rubble of a zombie apocalypse. When she meets a young traveler named Dan, she thinks she may have a new assistant — if she can convince Dan that books matter. Using humor, mindfulness, and the board game Go, Nasha gives it her best shot. Dan, meanwhile, is driven by a secret that is leading them toward similar goals.

Eric S. Piotrowski has taught English in Sun Prairie since 2003. He is the author of MindWipe: Dealing with Stress, Anger, and Ego as well as Class Consciousness: 10 Things New Teachers Should Know (and Veteran Teachers Should Remember) and the space adventure novel Delivery to Nimbus X. In January 2024, he gave a talk at TEDx Sun Prairie West HS entitled “How I Found Hope (and Myself) by Resisting Genocide”, which Mayor Paul Esser called “A wonderful presentation”.

Copies of Eric's books will be available for purchase at the event.

Registration is not required, but please register below if you would like an email reminder prior to the event.
