In this entertaining presentation, veteran Sun Prairie West HS educator and author Eric S. Piotrowski will discuss the genesis and journey of his latest novel Brains: How to Survive Apocalyptic Bibliophilia. The book follows Nasha Alexander as she tries to create a library in the rubble of a zombie apocalypse. When she meets a young traveler named Dan, she thinks she may have a new assistant — if she can convince Dan that books matter. Using humor, mindfulness, and the board game Go, Nasha gives it her best shot. Dan, meanwhile, is driven by a secret that is leading them toward similar goals.
Eric S. Piotrowski has taught English in Sun Prairie since 2003. He is the author of MindWipe: Dealing with Stress, Anger, and Ego as well as Class Consciousness: 10 Things New Teachers Should Know (and Veteran Teachers Should Remember) and the space adventure novel Delivery to Nimbus X. In January 2024, he gave a talk at TEDx Sun Prairie West HS entitled “How I Found Hope (and Myself) by Resisting Genocide”, which Mayor Paul Esser called “A wonderful presentation”.
Copies of Eric's books will be available for purchase at the event.
