Join us October 1-7, 2023 to celebrate the freedom to read! Dane County Public Libraries are holding a Banned Books Con, with in person and virtual events at various libraries throughout the week.

The Banned Books Con will kick off with a Panel Discussion on censorship and Intellectual Freedom, right here at the Sun Prairie Public Library, on Sunday, October 1st!

This event is free and open to the public.

  • Dr. Ashley White, Asst. Prof. at UW-Madison and Education Fellow for the NAACP
  • Erick Plumb, Director of Waunakee Public Library
  • Brittany Gitzlaff, Children's Librarian at Waunakee Public Library
  • Teresa Voss, School Librarian at Verona Area School District
