Angie Trudell Vasquez, award-winning poet, performer, author, & activist, will share selections from her forthcoming poetry release, In light, Always Light and perform pieces from her two previously published collections, The Force Your Face Carries and Love in War Time.  In this program, Angie will seamlessly weave history with poetry as she shares stories of her family and extensive travels.  She'll also illustrate the power of poetry and art to move us as people and contribute to movements for equity, justice, and peace. Vasquez's poems have appeared in Cloudthroat, The Rumpus, Raven Chronicles, Taos Journal of Poetry and Yellow Medicine Review, has been the feature poet for the Latina Monologues in Milwaukee, and currently serves on the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission. A Q & A will conclude the event, with book signing to follow. No registration required.
