Event Details

Join us for a discussion with Ashley Valentine, founder of Rooted MKE, a bookstore and tutoring center that focuses on the needs of Black, Indigenous, and people of color in Milwaukee.  She will share her journey as an educator and what inspired her to serve her community through the work of Rooted MKE.  Ashley will also discuss the urgency for us all to actively amplify the voices and perspectives of Black and brown authors and illustrators and the significance of Black and brown characters in nurturing a healthy community.

The event is generously funded by the Friends of the Sun Prairie Public Library.
