Meet Madison author Peggy Joque Williams and learn what life was like in 17th century France under the reign of King Louis XIV.

Peggy will talk about the ancestral inspiration for her book, Courting the Sun: A Novel of Versailles, the research she did to bring her characters to life, and she will show images of the clothing, lifestyles, locations, and historical characters that populate her book. She will also talk about the real-life group of women called the Filles du Roi who were recruited to help King Louis XIV grow his colony in New France (Canada). Books will be available for purchase and signing afterward.
