The artist will guide participants through the process of constructing an evocative still-life composition with objects of importance to the attendee. Bring meaningful objects of your choosing for a guided still-life painting & drawing workshop. Add symbolic meaning to your still life by selecting artifacts with conceptual significance-developing narrative and symbolic portrait of the maker. Learn from art-historical examples of the significance of still-life and “momento-mori” from Dutch Masters and Contemporary artists working today. Objects from participants will be arranged into a large community still-life from which we will work. Objects will be returned to participants at the end of the session. (Teens & Adults)
