Program Description

Event Details

Urban SUN: Black Voices Book Club is a monthly book club (since September 2020) devoted to creating meaningful conversations about race by exploring works of contemporary and historical African-American authors. Discussions are led by Sun Prairie residents, Donna Mackey and Marilyn Ruffin. Get ready to get uncomfortable and get real!

This month's book selection is The Survivalists, by Kashana Cauley, and we are very excited that Ms. Cauley will be joining us for this discussion! Copies of the book will be available at the library's Information Desk for those who register.

The Urban SUN book club meets via Zoom. Please register below to attend the discussion, and Zoom details will be emailed to you.

Author photoKashana Cauley is a Wisconsin native, and the author of THE SURVIVALISTS, which was longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, and was named a Best Book of 2023 by nine publications, including Vogue, the Today Show, and the BBC. She is also a television writer who has written for the Great North, Pod Save America on HBO, and The Daily Show. Her second novel, a student loan industry heist called THE PAYBACK, will be released by Atria Books in 2025.
